Trip Itinerary

A short, immersive journey into Tonkin’s highlands, built around a stay at Topas Ecolodge, one of northern Vietnam’s most iconic eco-retreats. 

Combining gentle trekking, cycling through ethnic villages, and a visit to a vibrant highland market, this journey offers an authentic taste of northern Vietnam with comfort and spectacular scenery.

Day 1 – Hanoi – Sapa – Topas Ecolodge – Lech & Ban Moi Villages

Drive to Sapa via Lao Cai, with lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, cycle to Lech Village, home to the Red Dao people, and visit a local house. Continue by bike to Ban Moi Village to learn about traditional embroidery before returning to the lodge.

Day 2 – Trek to Nam Cang via Sin Chai & Nam Nhiu

Transfer to the trekking point near Sin Chai. Hike through mountains, rice terraces, and Red Dao villages, stopping at local homes and small workshops in Nam Nhiu and Nam Cang. Enjoy lunch with a local family before returning to the lodge by car.

Day 3 – Ethnic Market Visit – Return to Hanoi

In the morning, visit a vibrant ethnic market (depending on the day: Coc Ly – Tuesday / Can Cau – Saturday / Bac Ha – Sunday), where Flower Hmong, Phu La, and Dao Tuyen people gather to trade local goods. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic drive back to Hanoi.
