Vidotour Sustainability Policy
1. Our Vision & Commitment
At VIDOTOUR, we believe that meaningful travel connects people, celebrates cultural diversity, and contributes to the long-term well-being of destinations and their communities.
As a destination management company operating in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, we are committed to creating authentic and responsible travel experiences that respect the cultural heritage, natural environments, and people of the destinations we serve.
We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing responsibility shared across our business. We commit to minimizing negative environmental impacts, supporting local livelihoods, protecting human rights, and providing a safe, fair, and inclusive working environment.
This policy establishes the framework for integrating sustainability into our planning, daily operations, product development, and business relationships. VIDOTOUR’s management is responsible for supporting its implementation and providing the resources needed to achieve continuous improvement.
2. Key Commitment Areas
2.1. Environmental Responsibility
Resource Management
We commit to using energy, water, and materials efficiently throughout our offices and operations. We will encourage employees and partners to adopt practical conservation measures and monitor resource consumption to identify opportunities for improvement.
Waste Reduction
We aim to prevent and reduce waste by prioritizing reusable products, limiting unnecessary printing and packaging, and supporting recycling where suitable facilities are available. We will progressively reduce single-use plastics in our offices and tours and work with suppliers to identify practical alternatives.
Climate Action
We strive to reduce transport-related emissions through thoughtful itinerary planning, efficient routing, and the selection of appropriate, fuel-efficient vehicles. Where feasible, we will encourage lower-emission transport options and work towards improving the measurement and management of our operational carbon footprint.
Biodiversity and Animal Welfare
We commit to protecting natural habitats and respecting wildlife. We will not knowingly offer or promote activities involving wildlife exploitation, harmful animal interactions, or the illegal purchase and trade of wildlife products. We will encourage responsible nature observation, respect protected-area rules, and support conservation initiatives where appropriate.
2.2. Social & Cultural Responsibility
Local Community Support
We prioritize collaboration with local guides, locally owned businesses, artisans, and community-based tourism initiatives where they meet appropriate quality, safety, and sustainability standards. Our aim is to increase the share of tourism benefits retained within the destinations we visit.
Cultural Respect and Heritage Protection
We will provide travelers with guidance on local customs, appropriate dress, religious practices, photography, and respectful behavior at cultural and historical sites. We commit to developing experiences that respect the identity, dignity, and traditions of communities across Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
Human Rights and Child Protection
VIDOTOUR has zero tolerance for human trafficking, forced labor, and any form of child abuse or exploitation, including sexual exploitation. We commit to raising awareness among employees, guides, and relevant partners and establishing clear procedures for reporting concerns to appropriate management and authorities.
Responsible Community Engagement
We aim to develop community experiences through respectful consultation and cooperation with local hosts. Activities should reflect community interests, protect privacy and dignity, and avoid disrupting daily life or exploiting vulnerable people.
2.3. Economic Responsibility & Fair Partnerships
Fair and Transparent Business Practices
We commit to conducting business with integrity, maintaining transparent contractual arrangements, and making payments in accordance with agreed terms. We seek long-term relationships with suppliers and partners based on fairness, accountability, and mutual benefit.
Responsible Purchasing and Supplier Engagement
We will consider environmental and social criteria alongside quality, safety, and value when selecting accommodation, transport, excursions, and other services. We will communicate our sustainability expectations to suppliers and encourage practical improvements through ongoing dialogue.
Local Employment and Development
We support employment opportunities for local people and the development of local tourism skills. We commit to fair remuneration and professional development for our employees and encourage comparable practices among our partners.
2.4. Employee Health, Safety & Well-being
Safe and Healthy Working Conditions
We commit to providing a safe, healthy, and secure workplace and complying with applicable labor and occupational health and safety requirements. We will maintain appropriate safety procedures and work with relevant partners to address risks affecting guides, drivers, and other personnel involved in delivering our services.
Fair Labor and Equal Opportunities
We are committed to fair recruitment, clear employment terms, reasonable working hours, and respect for employees’ rights. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or abuse and will promote equal opportunities in recruitment, development, and advancement.
Training and Awareness
We will provide appropriate training and guidance so employees understand their responsibilities under this policy. Relevant topics include resource conservation, responsible tourism, cultural awareness, child protection, and health and safety.
Employee Participation
We encourage employees to contribute ideas, participate in sustainability initiatives, and raise workplace or ethical concerns through appropriate channels without fear of retaliation.
2.5. Customer Responsibility
Accurate Information and Responsible Communication
We commit to providing clear and accurate information about our services and sustainability practices. Any environmental or social claims should be supported by evidence and reflect the actual scope of our activities.
Traveler Awareness and Safety
We will help travelers make informed choices and provide practical guidance on minimizing waste, respecting local communities, protecting wildlife, and following health and safety instructions.
Feedback and Improvement
We will use customer feedback and complaints to identify opportunities to improve service quality, accessibility, safety, and sustainability performance.
3. Implementation, Monitoring & Review
Management Responsibility
VIDOTOUR’s management will oversee this policy and support its integration into business decisions, operational procedures, and departmental responsibilities.
Sustainability Coordination
A designated Sustainability Coordinator will coordinate implementation, support employees and departments, maintain relevant records, and report progress to management.
Action Planning and Measurable Targets
We will translate this policy into an annual sustainability action plan with defined priorities, responsibilities, timelines, and measurable targets. Where baseline information is unavailable, we will establish appropriate data collection before setting performance targets.
Monitoring and Reporting
We will monitor relevant indicators, such as energy and water consumption, waste reduction, single-use plastic use, employee training, and supplier engagement. Findings will inform management reviews and updates shared with relevant stakeholders.
Communication and Engagement
This policy will be communicated to employees and made available to customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. We will encourage partners to support its principles and contribute to shared sustainability objectives.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
We will review this policy at least annually, and when significant operational or regulatory changes occur, to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Review findings will guide updates to our commitments, targets, and action plans.
VIDOTOUR is committed to making sustainability an integral part of how we work, how we travel, and how we contribute to the destinations we serve.
