Day 1 – Phnom Penh – By Road to Battambang

Early departure by car from Phnom Penh to Battambang, travelling through rural landscapes dotted with traditional pottery villages and stone carvers. En route, stop in Kampong Chhnang to discover traditional pottery, and in Pursat to learn about local stone carving. Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Phnom Sampeau, a dramatic limestone hilltop with temples, sweeping views over rice paddies and rural villages, and the poignant Killing Caves, a powerful reminder of Cambodia’s recent history.

At dusk, witness the extraordinary spectacle of thousands of bats emerging from the caves, before a relaxed evening drive back through the countryside.

Day 2 – Battambang Discovery

Discover the charm of Battambang through visits to local craft villages and traditional snack producers. Visit Phare Ponleu Selpak (subject to opening), a vibrant arts and circus school that supports local youth. Experience the fun of a ride on the Bamboo Train before wandering through Battambang’s colonial streets and riverside pagodas.

The drive from Battambang to Siem Reap passes through the heart of Cambodia, offering peaceful views of rice paddies, palm trees, and traditional villages, with glimpses of local life along the way—making for a scenic and relaxing journey.
