Take the flight to Xiengkhouang (QV401 | 13:50–14:25). On arrival, visit Jar Site 1, the most accessible and impressive of the mysterious Plain of Jars archaeological sites scattered across the plateau.

Explore Jar Sites 2 and 3 before continuing to Muang Khoun, the former royal capital of the Phuan Kingdom, where colonial and ancient ruins stand side by side.
