Day 1 – Vientiane Arrival & City Tour
Meet and greet on arrival at Vientiane Airport, followed by a transfer into the city. Begin your exploration of the tranquil capital, Vientiane.

Visit Wat Sisaket and Wat Prakeo, two of the city’s most revered temples.

Continue to That Luang, the nation’s sacred golden stupa.

Stop at the Patuxai Monument for panoramic views over the city.

Conclude at the COPE Centre to gain insight into Laos’ modern history and humanitarian efforts.

Day 2 – Vientiane - Flight to Xiengkhouang – Jar Site 1
Take the flight to Xiengkhouang (QV401 | 13:50–14:25). On arrival, visit Jar Site 1, the most accessible and impressive of the mysterious Plain of Jars archaeological sites scattered across the plateau.

Day 3 – Jars & Ancient Capital
Visit the MAG Centre to learn about efforts to clear unexploded ordnance in the region.
Explore Jar Sites 2 and 3 before continuing to Muang Khoun, the former royal capital of the Phuan Kingdom, where colonial and ancient ruins stand side by side.
End the day with sunset views from Phou Xang Hill.

Day 4 – Xiengkhoung - Road journey to Luang Prabang
Enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains, passing dramatic landscapes and remote valleys, with stops en route at Hmong and Khmu villages for a glimpse into rural life and traditional cultures.
Arrive in the UNESCO-listed town of Luang Prabang by late afternoon.

Day 5 – City Tour & Pak Ou Caves
Morning discover the charm of Luang Prabang, including:

Royal Palace Museum – Once the residence of the Lao royal family, displaying royal regalia, religious artefacts, and historic gifts.

Heuan Chan Heritage House – A beautifully restored traditional house offering insight into Lao domestic architecture and daily life.

Wat Xiengthong – The city’s most iconic temple and a masterpiece of Lao architecture, renowned for its sweeping roofs, gilded carvings, and glass mosaics.

Stop at the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (closed Mondays, March–October) to learn about Laos’ diverse ethnic cultures.
In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Mekong River to the sacred Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of Buddha images, returning to the city at sunset.

Day 6 – Almsgiving – Departure
Rise early to witness or take part in the serene almsgiving ceremony, one of Laos’ most enduring traditions. Visit the morning market before transferring to the airport for your departure.
